English Scones
- 8 oz flour
- 3 oz butter
- 1 tsp baking powder (1 tsp cream of tartar and 1/2 tsp baking soda)
- 1 oz sugar
- 4 oz milk
- a handfull of raisins (optional)
Rub fat into flour, add remaining dry ingredients. Add milk until a
doughy consistancy is reached. Roll to 3/4 to 1 inch thickness, cut
into circles. Brush the top with milk. Grease tray lightly. Bake at
425 for 7-10 minutes.
