Hi all. I am one of the new members to this list. I've spent likely over
$500 on Rokenbok :-( Although I bought all them with at least 20% off (some
at 40% off). I always waited until toys stores have sales to buy them.
Unfortunately, all the toy stores I've visited around here are selling them
at retail price. Is this price fixing? I mean Lego and Playmobil's prices
varies a lot from store to store. One place I will never buy anything from
is FAO. They only stock the Basic Starter set and sell it at $200, the
price of the Deluxe set. What a scam. Their prices for all other Rokenbok
items are all higher than the retail price.

So far here are what I have:
Deluxe Starter Set
extra controller
cars: an extra Loader, Sweeper, Gripper+trailer, extra trailer
Beams and Blocks
Ramps and Decks
Down-a-vator
Bridges and Roadways
Chutes and Hoppers

One interesting thing is for the Gripper, if you look at the box, it has
wheels. But the one I have actually has tracks instead. Since I don't have
a large area in my house to put the set permanently, I have to take it down
and put the set away after I am done playing with it. Yes, I play with it
myself most of the time and my almost-2-year-old son watches with great
excitement. I just played a few rounds of Sumo with my wife last night.
Since she is remote-controlled challenged, I beat her most of the time.
Yes, that is unfair. But it was fun. I will try a 4x4 arena next time.

Happy Rokenboking!

Subject: My status

Hello all, and welcome to the couple of new members.

I have not been doing too much Rokenbok related stuff recently.
Although I have done a little more with my LDraw parts for Rokenbok so
I should have all the basic parts done soon so we can share
constructions (which I think will be cool).

Anyway, I have got the Emergency Speedster but have not fully
evaluated it but in an initial session my suspicions about its weight
were confirmed: it is not strong enough to push anything heavier than
itself around and other things can push it. However, it is about
twice as fast as the other vehicles and its momentum does allow it to
knock the other vehicles a little.

So what sets do you guys have? And have you done anything interesting
with the Rokenbok?
